Amber is an innovative communications professional skilled at reaching diverse audiences through verbal and written communications strategies.
Presently, she is working at ESSENCE magazine, the premier publication for African American women, as a freelance editorial assistant in the Health & Relationships department. She also works as a freelance communications consultant through her company, Media on a Mission.
Since beginning her career as a journalist in 2005, she has written over 100 articles for regional, national, and online publications.
From exploring race relations in the armed forces, to interviewing health and career experts, Amber is known for her ability to use her innate people skills to communicate and relate to individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Committed to promoting unity and diversity through cultural education, Amber is on a mission to empower women, youth and individuals to use education as a vehicle to overcome any obstacles preventing them from pursuing their potential to be knowledgeable, contributing citizens of the world.
Her goal is to expand the Media on a Mission brand to include a cultural component in a broadcast/web format as part of her mission to start an open dialogue on race, culture, and breaking stereotypes.
When she is not writing, Amber loves to run in the park and enjoy dance classes.
